Practice Conversation

Situation: Two friends discuss their favorite sports.

A: Do you like to watch baseball games?

B: Sometimes. But sometimes I think it's boring.

A: Really? I think baseball is the best sport.

B: Oh, I like it. It's just that I think basketball is better.

A: Nothing is better than a good, base-clearing homerun in the late innings.

B: No, nothing is better than a last second slam dunk.

A: But what about those diving catches? Those daring steals?

B: Basketball has all of that. Besides the action doesn't stop every time the other team gets the ball.

A: I see what you mean. But there's time to enjoy a baseball game.

B: That's a good point. But I don't often have time to enjoy a baseball game.

A: Well, we have time now, and I think your favorite team is playing.

B: Okay, let's go see the game, but next time can we go to a basketball game?

A: Sure. I don't see why not.
