Practice Conversation

Situation: Two friends talk about the weather.

A: Boy! It sure is hot today!

B: I know. It seems hotter every day.

A: But what about yesterday?

B: It was hotter yesterday. But it's still too hot for me today.

A: I agree. The summers are always very warm here. How about in your hometown?

B: Yes, it's usually hot in my hometown, too, but the heat feels different here.

A: Many people say that. How is it different?

B: In my hometown there aren't as many buildings and cars, and the air isn't so dry.

A: Oh, I see. Is that "humidity"?

B: Yes, that's right. Anyway, it's too hot there, too.

A: Maybe you'd like something cold to drink?

B: That sounds like a great idea. Where shall we go?

A: I know a good place very near here.

B: Well, what are we waiting for?
